Cyberpunk 2.3 Update: Vehicle Customization & Quality of Life Arrive in Night City

July 18, 2025

Cyberpunk 2077's surprise Patch 2.3 delivers long-awaited vehicle customization, photo mode enhancements, and new cars. It's a small but welcome quality-of-life update that refines the Night City experience, even if the new auto-drive is a bit buggy.

A surprising update for Cyberpunk 2077 arrives in the form of Patch 2.3, continuing support for the title long after its major overhaul. This update is not a massive content drop but rather a focused collection of quality-of-life enhancements and fan-requested features. It demonstrates a continued commitment to refining the experience in Night City, adding small but meaningful layers of interactivity and personalization for players.

The most substantial changes center on vehicles. The patch introduces several new cars, each tied to new side jobs to unlock them. More significantly, it adds a robust vehicle customization feature, allowing players to change the color and finish of most of their owned cars on the fly. This system, known as Rayfield's Crystal Coat, provides a new level of personalization. Complementing this is a new auto-drive feature and an expanded Delmain cab service, which function as a fast-travel alternative. However, these automated systems exhibit some navigational difficulties, occasionally getting stuck or taking inefficient routes.

Beyond the garage, the update brings notable improvements to photo mode, with new spawnable NPCs, outfit swaps, and detailed controls over lighting, weather, and time of day. For PC players, the patch adds support for the latest AMD and Intel frame generation technologies, alongside fixes for DLSS, ensuring better performance on a wider range of hardware. While a smaller update in scope, Patch 2.3 offers a collection of thoughtful additions that enrich the world and gameplay, making it a welcome refinement for both new and returning players.
